Unfortunately, welcome to short attention span theater. The average American doesn't remember and frankly doesn't care about what happened yesterday. Liberals don't care that most of their heroes, Gore, Hillary and Bill, etc., etc., were the original "alarmists" about what was happening in the Middle East, specifically Iran and Iraq. Here it is, all on tape, what they said then and what they say now. This is a two parter and definitely worth the watch from a future perspective, the fall of America. The left wants it. They already have on their dancing shoes. What do the rest of us think about people who would want such a thing.

Why Muslims Hate Us
I absolutely agree that the hatred comes from who we are and, as Netanyahu says, it is a "collective us." Often I have been amazed that many of those here in the United States who would like to mediate with the terrorists are the very people the terrorists hate most. A specific kind of disconnect and a very dangerous one for all of us.

40 Days For Life - Join in!

40 Days for Life consists of 40 days of prayer and fasting for an end to abortion, 40 days of constant, peaceful vigil outside abortion centers and Planned Parenthood offices and 40 days of active pro-life community outreach.
The campaign dates of February 25 through April 5 coincide with the Christian season of Lent. “It’s a perfect match,” said spring campaign director Shawn Carney. “Lent is a season of prayer, fasting, repentance and renewal. It is our prayer that the efforts of the thousands of people who will participate in 40 Days for Life in their home towns will touch hearts and minds, save lives – and show that extreme pro-abortion policies do not resonate with the values of this nation.”

Michael Phelps Pot-Head
How seriously stupid do you have to be to be this famous and allow your picture to be taken smoking a joint? Forget heroes for the kids. Sports figures stopped being heroes decades ago. There are definitely two schools on how to handle this, but I don't think making excuses such as "everyone does it" really fit the bill. I mean, I didn't get away with that with my parents when I was a kid and I am amazed at home many adults are using it now. I read this on another blog - So we shouldn't have role models in the public eye. Strange. The implication of this statement is that only astute and accomplished ethicists can be role models. Here we see one of the problems with post-modern man’s lust for specialization. The hero can only be a hero in his “field”, and only to those who participate in that “field“. No, Phelps is a role model because of all the things NOT associated with swimming. If it were swimming alone, than any derelict in water would suffice. It is because Phelps is the best swimmer. But it is that which makes him the best swimmer that’s admirable, and those “intangibles” are present in every field, not just in the natatorium. And it is precisely for this reason that his “fall” exists without losing a single race. To be clear, I’m not making a case for or against pot use, or whether or not this act in particular is a “fall“; I’m trying to maintain the notion of “hero-ism” in a world of specialists; the idea that sacrifice looks the same with the plumber as it does with the doctor. And that selfishness smells as bad on the Hollywood socialite as it does on the “serious” politician. Phelps doesn’t need a degree in ethics to be a role model, and I do not need gills to be disappointed. And color me very disappointed.

Two weeks in office and Obama is already having to escape from the pressure? Oh, my. Two of his appointees are out, one bowing out for an episode of back taxes (paid) and the other bowing out for back taxes not paid. One has to wonder who is running the investigation process. Not exactly a smooth transition here. Of course, the other tax cheat was confirmed. Boy, how thrilled are we about that?!? We average Joes actually can't get away with things like that. Here's part of the story.
"On the rockiest day of his young administration, President Barack Obama did what surely made him happy for a while.
He left.
With little notice, the president and first lady Michelle Obama bolted the gated compound of 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. in their tank of a limousine on Tuesday. They ended up at a Washington public school, greeted by children who could not care less about the collapse of a Cabinet secretary nomination.
"We were just tired of being in the White House," the president candidly told the gleeful second-graders at Capital City Public Charter School.
"We got out! They let us out!" Mrs. Obama said as the kids and their teachers laughed.
The White House said the Obamas' trip had been planned, just not publicly announced.
The surprise timing, though, gave the feel of two different worlds.
At the White House, press secretary Robert Gibbs was getting grilled about Tom Daschle's doomed nomination for health and human services secretary.
Meanwhile, the president was getting questions from boys and girls who are the same age as his seven-year-old daughter, Sasha.
One child asked him if he had a favorite superhero. Spiderman and Batman, the president answered.
Another student asked what it was like to live in the White House. Mrs. Obama took charge on this one, delighting the kids with all the perks of life in America's most famous house: a florist, a bowling alley, a movie theater, even a special place where people make chocolate and candy.
"You should come visit," she said.
The stop at the school underscored a promise that the Obamas made and insist they will keep: to avoid getting caught up in a White House bubble. They say they will be visible parts of the Washington community - even in the midst of a hectic day. Or a difficult one." Read the rest of the story here.
Gee, my question, had I been a student might have been, how come your kids are too good to go to public school and though you pretend to represent the common man, you just paid over $60,000.00 tuition for the Sidwell School they are attending. That is only tuition. In other words, they will visit the schools but wouldn't be caught dead sending their kids there. Right. Hey kids, don't wait for that invitation to "come visit." Ain't gonna happen. Oh, and had Obama supported school vouchers, it's quite possible that one or maybe even two kids in this class might have had a chance at the same education Obama's kids are getting. But of course the NEA wouldn't stand for that. They are a very powerful leftist lobby and not to be trifled with. What a damn shame. School vouchers could have made a difference in a lot of kids lives, but the NEA says it will take money out of the school system. I guess we know who their God is.
Aidan's Dream
Aidan's desire is to provide water for a small community in Northern Ghana. Last year he helped raise money for a well project there, but the company could not locate a reliable water source. The nearby municipality has agreed to create a pipeline from a nearby village to Sankpem, providing fresh water. The problem is, this costs $20,000.

"I heard Benjamin Netanyahu, the person who could soon become Israel’s new prime minister, speak this week at the Jerusalem Conference. The most pressing point that he talked about was that under no circumstances should Jerusalem be divided. Many believe that if Jerusalem were to divide, the terrorist group Hamas would set up a headquarters here, which would result in Iranian agents — who also wish to see genocide against the Israelis — setting up shop within the confines of Jerusalem.
It is amazing to me, as an American who travels the world on a near-constant basis, that there is so much confusion over who the terrorists are. Hamas is a terrorist organization that condones and facilitates suicide bombings and will kill every Jew on the planet if they have the chance. Meanwhile, Israel is an energetic democracy with a vibrant press. I could sit right here in Jerusalem and write bad things about Israel and Jews, and nothing would happen. Maybe I wouldn’t get invited somewhere or would be called an anti-Semite, but that would be it. Neither the Jews nor the Israelis would harm me, though they likely would write bad things about me. I came to Israel with no press accreditation and at the airport they knew that I was a writer. Yet they let me in and have allowed me to freely roam the country. Today I was in very close proximity to Mr. Netanyahu. Mr. Netanyahu talked about how, in this very hotel, Rehavam Ze’evi had been murdered just a few floors above our heads. The security seemed incredibly lax by American standards. Bernard Lewis and other extremely smart people were there.
Israel is a free country that abides by the rule of law. By contrast, if a writer were to go to Gaza or Iran, for instance, and start writing bad words, he might wind up on the news, dead. Israel allows Christians and Arab Muslims to worship freely, while Hamas wants to see us all at the bottom of the sea. Hamas, supported by Iran, is clear about their goals: they want to wipe out Israel completely, utterly, with finality. But it’s not just Israel that Hamas wants to kill; they want to kill all Jews everywhere. Complete genocide.
And when Iran has the capacity to launch rockets over to Europe or the United States, one can count on it happening. If they can manage to hatch nuclear weapons, we could see Israeli cities annihilated, leaving Israelis with little choice other than to respond with nuclear weapons, which could leave millions dead. If Iran gets nuclear weapons, Iraq will want them, as will other nations who are threatened by Iran. I’ve lived in Europe for about six years, and it is easy to imagine Europe being engulfed in a massive religious and race war. America is relatively sedate on the racial front, but Europe could explode if a serious terrorism wave were to sweep through.
It is simply astounding that many foreign governments do not see this for what it is. Good Muslims are murdered by Muslim extremists in probably dozens of countries, yet certain European governments insist that there is some sort of moral equivalence between Hamas and the democracy called Israel. At this conference, I hear incredulous Jews who are concerned that their soldiers and political leaders might be charged with war crimes and arrested if they travel to Europe. This is just one example of the racism that vexes Europe and keeps it behind where it could be. Imagine for a moment that Cuba were launching missiles at Florida. We would sink their navy, shoot down their air force, wipe out their army, and kill Castro. Yet thousands of rockets have been raining down on Israel, while many members of the international community demand that Israel do nothing. These rockets are advertised to be small and not much of a nuisance, but each one carries about 15 times more explosives than a hand grenade. Hamas favors launching the rockets when kids are going to or coming from school. Clearly they are trying to murder the children who are growing up under attack. The Israelis have proven time and again that they will choose peace if given a chance. Hamas, when given a chance, chooses war."
